QRIS Resource Guide

In 2013, the Department of Health and Social Services provided grant funding to Alaska’s Statewide Child Care Resource and Referral Network, thread, to create and fill a QRIS Director position.

Alaska is in the process of reviewing QRIS standards that were developed in 2008 and a gap analysis conducted by the QRIS Advisory Committee who last came together in 2011. Alaska plans to update the 2008 plan to include an implementation timeline.

Alaska Leverages Resources to Support QRIS

In many states it is very difficult to add state staff positions when they are needed to administer a QRIS.  When Alaska found itself in that situation, they partnered with thread, their CCR&R, who was able to house the position within the R&R structure.  Alaska was able to redirect quality funds, supporting the QRIS.
